Meet the Team
3M: Miss Madew and Miss Mellor
3W: Mrs Wentworth and Mrs Underhill
Hi I’m Mrs Wentworth. Although I’ve not been a teacher here at Mill Hill Primary Academy for a long time, I have always been involved with the school as a parent. I did my teacher training here at Mill Hill and I even went to school here myself! My favourite subject is History, especially the Ancient Egyptians. I love History so much that I have a degree in it. My favourite past time is reading especially Harry Potter books: I could re-read them over and over. Outside of school, I have 4 children and lots of animals including cats, a dog, a lizard and a giant tortoise called Stanley.Â
Joining me in Year 3 is Mrs Underhill, who has worked at the school for over 18 years. It holds a special place in her heart. She has worked in Early years and Key Stage 2 so has been able to see our children’s starting points and the expectations they need to achieve in Upper Key Stage 2. She enjoys escaping to her caravan in Wales at weekends and also enjoys spending time with her family.
Hi. My name is Miss Madew and I have been teaching at Mill Hill for 12 years. I have been lucky enough to work in both Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 and have loved seeing the progress that children make as they grow in independence and confidence. I particularly enjoy teaching English, Science and Art as these were subjects that I enjoyed in school. Outside of Mill Hill, I have a 2 year old daughter, who definitely keeps me busy. We love to go on days out and adventures together. I also enjoy completing lots of different crafts, from painting to sewing and this is definitely something that I’m looking forward to passing on to my little girl. At home we also have a little cat named Susie, who is always full of mischief, fun but most importantly, cuteness meaning she gets away with most things. Â
I am lucky to be joined in the classroom by Miss Mellor. Miss Mellor has been working at our school for 4 years. She has two children who have been through Mill Hill and she has even attended here herself! Miss Mellor loves spending time with her family going out for meals and day trips. She has a Jack Russell named Tia.
This year, our PE day is on Tuesday. Please make sure appropriate PE kit is in school that day. This includes the purple Mill Hill t-shirt. It is important the children take part in the sessions. Please see our uniform policy for more details. https://clt.millhill.coop/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Academy-Uniform-September-2023.pdf
We change our reading books every Monday. We also monitor homework on a Friday, so please ensure children bring these to school on that day. We love to see all the amazing work they do with you at home.
We are so excited for all of the learning opportunities we will get to share with the children this year and we try to make it as fun filled and creative as we possibly can.
