Hi I am Mrs Akhtar. I began my career at Mill Hill in 2016. I have always worked in Year 1, but I am extremely excited to now be in Year 2 as we will really see the children begin to shine. I have a daughter, who is 6 which helps me to understand how to help her learn and I have a cheeky cat called Yeezy.
Hi, I am Miss Barker and I have had the pleasure of working at Mill Hill Academy for over 8 years and I am thoroughly enjoying working with the children in year 2. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching motor sports and producing works of art. I have the pleasure of working alongside Miss Gidman, who has worked at Mill Hill Primary Academy for over 4 years. She has formally worked within Key Stage 2 but she has now joined the Key Stage 1 team. In her spare time, she is in a band, so music is a passion of hers.
This year, our PE day will be a Monday. Please make sure appropriate PE kit is in school each week. This includes the purple Mill Hill t-shirt. It is important the children take part in the sessions. In school, we use Bug Club and monitor reading on a daily basis. We change our reading books on a weekly basis or depending on reading habits. We also monitor homework on a weekly basis.
We are so excited for all of the learning opportunities we will get to share with the children this year.
