Hi, I am Mrs Donnelly and I have worked at Mill Hill for over 10 years. I am an Early Years specialist, having spent my time at Mill Hill teaching Nursery and Reception. I also have a keen interest in Early Reading, which I co-lead across the school. My favourite lesson to teach is phonics. The ways in which young children learn to read and write really amazes me. I have two little girls, who keep me busy at home and I love all things Disney!

Hi, I am Mrs Lindop. I have been working at Mill Hill for four and a half years. I have worked in Early Years for over ten years and achieved my Early Years Teacher Status in 2014. I have always loved working in Early Years and truly believe that the first five years of life have such a big impact on the rest of your life, I am proud to contribute to this and make a difference for our young people. I have two young children of my own who keep me very busy. I am passionate about football, I played female football myself for many years and
currently run a girls under 8’s football team in my spare time. From this I have gained my FA Level one certification in Football Coaching. I enjoy reading with my children and getting cosy with a good book myself at night.

Hi I am Mrs Perry. I am a qualified Early Years Practitioner. I worked at Mill Hill many years ago within early years for approximately 9 years before I made a career change. As much as I loved my new career, working with children was at the core of my heart and so I returned to Mill Hill last year where I had the privilege of working within year 1. I am now thoroughly enjoying working in Nursery and enjoy being the Lively Ladybirds keyworker. I am a mum of two, who I adore. I like planting in my lovely garden and look forward to family holidays in Cornwall.

We are committed to ensuring your child gets the best possible start to their school life. We ask that all parents encourage their child to become more independent. Children should be able to put on and off their coat and shoes. They must also be able to use the toilet independently.

We understand how important reading and sharing stories are with children’s speech and language development. To support with this we send reading books home with all children and these are changed every Thursday. We ask that all children read at least 4 times a week.

In order to promote reading for pleasure, we also take the children once a week to the school library to choose a picture book to take home. Library books are changed on a Friday.

We also send half termly challenges home, linked to the topics we are covering. We have lots of exciting topics to teach this year and are looking forward to sharing these with your child.

Autumn 1: Here’s where my story begins (All about me)

Autumn 2: Our Heroes (People who help us/Superheroes)
