Year 4

Meet the team

4K: Mrs Khalid and Mrs Hughes

4P: Mr Paxton and Miss McCue

Hi, I am Mrs Khalid, I have worked at Mill Hill for over 19 years. Previously, I have taught in Year 2 and Year 6. I am very excited to be a part of the Year 4 team. I have recently come back from maternity leave after having a little boy called Azaan. I am really looking forward to teaching Year 4 as at this age children are full of questions and ideas, which makes lessons exciting and engaging. I will get to watch their confidence grow as they tackle more challenging concepts, and it’s inspiring to see their personalities shine through in both their learning and friendships. Outside of school, I love spending time with my little boy Azaan, making memories and going on holiday abroad. I do have the privilege of working alongside Mrs Hughes. She loves to read – her favourite book is ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’.  She also enjoys spending precious time with her family.  Mrs Hughes enjoys a sing and a dance and brings that to the classroom wherever possible, whether it be during a class performance, a Spanish or SPAG lesson.  Her main focus is ensuring all children achieve their very best and are always happy when they are at school.

Hi, I’m Mr Paxton and I have worked at Mill Hill for 7 years. Throughout my time teaching, I have mainly been in Year 5 and 6 so I am delighted to expand this as a Year 4 teacher this year.  I love working with children in their final years of primary school as we prepare them for high school.  It is wonderful to see them blossom into independent young people who are ready for their next steps in life.  I look forward to using my experience in Year 6 to help get the children ready for their final year.  As well as being a Year 4 teacher, I also have the privilege of being the subject leader for Spanish.  In my spare time, I have a love of reading, foreign travel, theme parks, rollercoasters and going for long walks with my adorable dog, Ralphie. I have the pleasure of working alongside Miss McCue. She started her journey at Mill Hill in the WISH team, which she really enjoyed as she is extremely passionate about working with children with SEND. Now, she thoroughly enjoys being classroom based and she has previously worked in year 3. She has three fabulous children who she loves spending time with doing family activities.

This year, our PE day will be a WEDNESDAY. Please make sure appropriate PE kit is in school each week. Please see our uniform policy for more details. http://clt.millhill.coop/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Academy-Uniform-September-2023.pdf

We use TTRS in school and monitor reading on a daily basis.  We change our reading books on a weekly basis. Homework is also monitored on a weekly basis.

We are so excited for all the learning opportunities we will share with the children this year.

Work hard, dream big and never give up."
