Today, year 2 had a wonderful workshop with Alfresco Learning, all based around our topic, The Great Fire of London. The children were excited to demonstrate their knowledge and were able to recall lots of interesting facts they had learned in class.
As part of the hands-on activities, the children worked collaboratively to build walls using traditional wattle and daub techniques. They enjoyed getting messy and understanding how buildings were constructed in 1666.
Later, the children had the opportunity to design and construct their own versions of a bakery — just like the one on Pudding Lane where the fire began.
