National Storytelling Week (Feb 26)

This week, we took part in a ‘Storytelling Swap’ across the school. 📚

Teachers and support staff visited different classrooms to read and share some of their favourite stories with children from other year groups. The children really enjoyed hearing new voices, discovering different books, and sharing the experience of storytelling together.

At our school, reading for pleasure is very important. We know that children who enjoy reading are more likely to become confident readers, creative thinkers, and lifelong learners. Activities like our Storytelling Swap help children see reading as something fun, social, and exciting not just something we do in lessons.

We encourage you to continue supporting reading for pleasure at home by sharing stories together, visiting the library, and talking about books your child enjoys.💜
