Year 4

Meet the team

4H: Miss Higginson and Mrs Turner

4S: Mrs Dickson and Mrs Miley

Hi I am Miss Higginson, this year is my first year of teaching. I am very lucky to be in Year 4. I love reading books, writing, art and my cat Kevin. Working alongside me is Mrs Turner, she is  my Teaching assistant. She has been at Mill Hill for 22 years and has worked across both key stages and Early Years. She loves to visit her caravan in Wales and she enjoys walking, especially with her dog. She has a new puppy on the way very soon, which she is very excited about.

I am Mrs Dickson.  My career at Mill Hill Primary Academy began in 2014 where I worked in Year 1.  This was my first time teaching in Year 1 and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  The following years, I taught in Year 3. I really enjoyed teaching this year group and found it such a pleasure to see the children working hard, maturing and progressing through their school years.

This year, I will be leading PSHE and careers, which I am looking forward too. I have two beautiful children: Alistar and Olly who are 3 Years and 11 Months old. It is lovely to see that Alistar has inherited my passion for reading too. I have the pleasure of working alongside Mrs Miley and Mrs Seyed. Mrs Miley has worked at the school since 2013, beginning her time her Year 3. She has since then been all over the school from Nursery to Year 2. She is very much looking forward to working in Year 4. She has 2 gorgeous children, Rocco and Rosa and is obsessed with her cats Paris and Ronaldo.

This year, our PE day will be a WEDNESDAY. Please make sure appropriate PE kit is in school each week. Please see our uniform policy for more details. In Spring term, we go swimming every Tuesday, so please ensure they have their full kit including a swimming cap.

In school we use Bug Club and monitor reading on a daily basis. We change our reading books on a weekly basis or depending on reading habits. We also monitor homework on a weekly basis.

We are so excited for all of the learning opportunities we will get to share with the children this year.
